Mr. Cohen’s practice is devoted to representing businesses in the areas of general business and corporate litigation and transactions. His legal practice focuses on the areas of general corporate law (including corporate formation and governance, mergers and acquisitions, and general business contract law), employment and compensation issues (including employment agreements and the development and administration of employee stock option and incentive plans), internet law and compliance (including DMCA, TCPA, COPPA, Internet Marketing, Data Center, Privacy and Security), and intellectual property registration and litigation before the TTAB and United States District Courts. Mr. Cohen is a seasoned litigator having tried several jury trials to final verdict as well as numerous other bench trials, arbitrations and mediations.
Mr. Cohen is an entrepreneur, angel investor and has founded and served as advisor and board members of several companies including InternetLitigators, Add2Net, Inc., and Esquire International Beverages, Inc. During his time with these companies, he was also the sole internal legal counsel responsible for all aspects of the companies’ legal affairs, including business formation, business structure, licensing, compliance, intellectual property protection, customer agreements, supplier agreements, privacy, data security, terms of service, subpoena response, FISA warrant response, national security letters, real estate leasing, corporate finance, employment law and employee compensation and severance issues.
Mr. Cohen was born and raised in Southern California. Mr. Cohen holds a bachelor's degree in advertising from the business school at Arizona State University and earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California and London, England where he was a member of the Oxford Moot Court Competition, in Oxford, England. He is admitted to the State Bar of California, the Bars of the United States District Court for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of California. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association (Intellectual Property Section), The Association of Business Trial Lawyers, and he serves on the steering committee of the Internet Law Leadership Summit and the cyberlaw committee of the business law section of the California State Bar Association.
